Being able to travel abroad is such an exciting time! But to make sure that you have a great time while traveling, being prepared is so important! Here are some things to do before traveling internationally!

Double check all your documentation

Making sure your passports and other travel documents are up to date is BEYOND important! I have heard so many horror stories from other travelers who had to cancel their trips because they realized their passports had expired.

Notify your banks

Not all banks require this step, but if you plan to use your debit/credit cards abroad, then enable your travel notifications. By enabling the feature, you eliminate having your purchases flagged as fraudulent or being declined once overseas.

Purchase an eSIM plan

Opting for an eSIM card plan may be cheaper than some international plans through phone carriers. Holafly eSIM offers multiple plan options that allow you to enjoy unlimited data while travel. So forget worrying about roaming charges and searching for public WIFIs, and focus on enjoying your trip!

Research electrical outlets

Not all countries use the same type of plug, so having an adapter is important! While some hotels may have universal adapters, that is sometimes not always the case. So better to bring one with you! Check out the electrical guide above

Be aware of laws and regulations

This is the MOST important thing that I can recommend for traveling abroad. Being aware of another country’s culture/regulations while exploring within their borders is not only a sign of respect, but can also prevent any issues with law enforcement overseas. Reference the US Department of State site for more information regarding travel safety.
